Darfur War

The war in darfur (western SUDAN) is unlike second SUDANESE civil war.

OMAR-AL-BASHIR

The various tribes under attack (chiefly the Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa tribes) do not appear to have a distinct ethnicity from their attackers.Armed conflicts is composed mainly of the Sudanese military and the Janjaweed, a Sudanese militia group recruited mostly from the Afro-Arab Abbala tribes of the northern Rizeigat region in Sudan. The conflict began in February 2003.

The main causes of the war are decades of drought, desertification, and overpopulation. The Baggara nomads searching for water have to take their livestock further south, to the land mainly occupied by Black African farming communities. As many as 2.5 million are thought to have been displaced. As a result of this menace the Sudanese government has been accused of suppressing information by killing witnesses.United States government has described the conflict as genocide.

UN RESPONSE-
Sudan's government has "orchestrated and participated in" war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfur, according to a report by UN investigators on 6 June 2005.

In an historic move, the International Criminal Court has issued a warrantfor the arrest of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on 5 counts of crimes against humanity and 2 counts of war crimes. This is the first time in history that the ICC has release a warrant for a sitting head of state. The Genocide Intervention Network, in collaboration with a host of anti-genocide organizations, has released a joint statement in response to the announcement.

I hope that it will be no more wars in Africa.
Africa is rich with ore so it is better to convince people there that ecomony is better than war.
