My Unique City Bhopal

I Am a citizen of India and basically I belong from Bhopal Madhya Pradesh…here I would like to tell you something about my beautiful city BHOPAL.

Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh combines scenic beauty and modern urban planning. Today Bhopal presents a multi faceted profile; the old city with its teeming market places and fine old mosques and palaces still bear the aristocratic imprint of its former rulers; among them the succession of powerful begums who ruled Bhopal. Equally impressive is the new city with its greenery specially gardens, broad avenues and streamlined modern impressive buildings.

Bhopal is known as city of lakes. There are 14 lakes in all here. The two lakes of Bhopal still dominate the city, and are indeed its nucleus. Bordered along their shoes stand silent sentinels that testify to the growth of a city.

Moti masjid is architecturally akin to Delhi’s Jama Masjid and the Taj-Ul-Masjid is one of the largest mosques in Asia, built by Nawab Shahjehan Begum. A three day Ijtima congregation held here annually draws people from all over the country.

Another jewel in the crown of Bhopal situated behind shaukat mahjal on the banks of upperlake in Gohar mahal, which is an architectural gem. The Mahal is magnificent expression of the Mughal architecture. A unique national institute of India, Bharat Bhawan is the centre for performing and visual art. The contours of Bharat Bhawan merge in exquisite harmony with the landscape creating visual impact of spacious and natural elegance.

On the same way a safari- park is located adjacent to upper lake, natural surroundings, wildlife watchers can view a variety of herbivorous and carnivorous species.

To enjoy rural life style of India, unique of its kind man museum is situated at shyamla hills reflecting the rural culture of India. I fell in love with the city on the day I was born and am proud to be in as long as possible.
