Television : A necessary Evil

Television is commonly known as TV. TV is a widely used
telecommunication medium for transmitting and receiving moving images,
either monochromatic ("black and white") or color, usually accompanied
by sound. "Television" may also refer specifically to a television
set, television programming or television transmission. TV has now
become an essential and important part of our social life.

Television is financed by government, advertisers, license,
subscription or by the combination of all these. Many television
networks and stations sell blocks of broadcast time to advertisers
("sponsors") in order to fund their programming.

Now a days different type of televisions are available like LCD, Flat
Television, Plasma TV. It is a very useful tool in this age of
information.

But its harmful effects cannot be overlooked. Continuous viewing of TV
affects the eyesight especially of children.TV should be viewed from a
distance. But usually children don’t take care and result is obvious.
It affects the eyesight if proper distance is not maintained. This
negligence speaks of itself when we find many children wearing
spectacles because of continuous viewing TV.

I think that TV is really an unavoidable necessity. But we should use
it selectively.
